.Lower your email display numbers. Gmail lists up to 50 emails on one page by default. To cut the email display number down, simply click on “Settings” while in your account, make sure the “General” tab is open, identify the “Maximum Page Size” portion of the tab and change the “Conversations Per Page” number to 25. Click “Save Changes” on the bottom of the page.

.Fix your Web Clips. Web Clips are an extra feature in your inbox that give you optional news headlines above your email messages. Under the “Settings” link, click on the “Web Clips” tab and uncheck “Show My Web Clips Above the Inbox.”

.Use the Basic HTML page. When accessing Gmail, users are often taken to a loading page that marks the process. On this page, choose the “Load Basic HTML” link on the bottom. This link is usually reserved for users with slow connections, but may also be used by those who want to rid their inbox of unnecessary material to load. You can always switch back to “Standard” view later.

.Try the Mobile Gmail page. By accessing Gmail Mobile, ads and other unnecessary additions to your Gmail page can be bypassed and leave a smoother interface.

.Skip the tedious browser checks. Gmail may take time by checking for browser compatibility. Shave a few seconds off your Gmail loading time by adding “gmail?nocheckbrowser” to the end of your usual Gmail URL.

.Keep on top of your browser’s cache. Clear or delete temporary Internet files, cookies and caches to make your Internet browsing experience faster.

.Access Gmail directly. Extra loading time can be cut down if you enter a direct link into your address bar. To do this, simply put an extra “s” after “http” in the regular Gmail URL.
